First Act Drum Set

I bought my son a First Act drum set when he was 5 years old. He absolutely loved it. Being a musician myself, I was expecting a dumbed down toy drum set but boy was I wrong. These little drum sets are carbon copies of what the mightiest of rockers use.

When the First Act drum set arrived, my son and I could not get into the box quick enough. Oh boy, as a parent you might know what it’s like to get your kid a new toy and then you get to put it together. Sometimes this isn’t the most fun thing and sometimes it’s just a pain but putting together the First Act Drum set couldn’t be easier and we had it together and ready to rock in minutes.

I had to sit behind this miniature drum set and give it a whirl. I was amazed at the sound and quality of these mighty drums and soon I was rocking. To be honest I had forgotten that this First Act drum set was for my son, until I looked over the cymbals to see him staring at me impatiently. I got off the throne and handed him the sticks. What happened next was priceless!

My son transformed into a drum playing machine. His face underwent changes that made me laugh as his mouth twisted and his tongue stood out in concentration. His arms were flying as the sticks crashed into their targets. He hadn’t even noticed the bass drum pedal yet and when I pointed it out to him his mouth formed a perfect oh and his eyes widened with excitement. His foot came down on the pedal and now all of his little limbs were working in unison and his face went back to that funny twisted state. He started singing while he played. I was lucky enough to catch this all on video and still cherish it to this day.

That was five years ago. My son still has his First Act drum set and it held up to five years of steady abuse with out any problems what so ever. This alone is quite amazing. If your kids want a drum set, do yourself and them a favor and pick up a First Act Drum Set and let your kids rock.
